Chhattisgarh : Kirandul



Kirandul is another added attraction for the tourist for its unique iron ore mines. Situated at a distance of 114km from Bastar, Kirandul has one of the largest iron ore mine in the whole Asian continent. The city of Kirandul is however locally known as Bailadila as the name is been derived from the shape of hump of an ox, for the shape of the mine quite significantly resemble the same.

However not only Kirandul is famous for its unique iron ore mine, the greenery out there is also worth appealing. Adorned with variety of forest and ranges of mountain, the beauty of kirandul is incomparable. The perfectly blended aspects of nature thus provide a real picturesque effect to this small but perfectly planned city. However though this place is not that well known a place amongst tourist but still this place do draw huge number of tourist every year. So those willing to visit the Iron Ore Project, make sure you seek permission from the Manager of the mine.

Travelling 7km from here, will reach you to the 1200mt high hill top which is the Kailash Nagar. You can hire a car which will take you to the hill top amidst the clouds. Tourist can also visit some of the other nearby sites of interest. One among them is travelling 14km from kirandul through some dense forest is a place called Malangbali. The lake is formed from the conserved water of some nearby waterfalls.

Another nearby place of visit can be that of Bacheli.Situated at a distance of 10km from Kirandul, this city is famous for its unique industrial township. Travelling further at a distance of 22km is the famous hunting ground of the royal families of Bastar. But unfortunate enough, this place is not that frequented by tourist as it should have been.
