Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary :

Covering only 400 acres of wet land, the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, about 46 km away from Delhi, offers a homely environment to hundreds of birds of various species. The swaying green foliage, placed on the banks of the Lake, gives these colorful and animated birds an opportunity to form their very own nests. A lot of migratory birds, such as, Flamingo and Pelican fly in from their European and Siberian shacks to enjoy the greeneries of the Sultanpur Sancturary.

The daily life cycle of these vivacious birds is Interesting. It would be even for fascinating to witness life cycles of different species of birds. For that, tourists and bird watchers have to climb up the watch tower on the premise of the Bird Sanctuary. Don’t forget to carry a Binocular alongside. You can arrange it there as well though.

How to reach: The nearest Railway station of Sultanpur is Sultanpur Lodhi Station which is well connected by railway network to the various places, such as, Jalandhar, Firozpur, Ahmadabad and Jammu. Buses ply to Sultanpur as well from Delhi, Kurukshetra, Jalandhar, Gurgaon and many more nearby destinations.

Where to stay: Haryana Tourism has arranged some places where tourists can stay overnight on the banks of the riveting Lake. Apart from that, Shama Tourist Guest House, Gurgaon is another nice place to stay it. It is only 32 km away from Sultanpur towards Delhi.
