Orissa : Salandi

 

Salandi: Chenapati is situated at a distance of 30 km away from Bhadrak and Hadgarh is located at a distance of 16 km from Chenapati.
A dam was built on Salandi River in Hadgarh. Shal, Piyashal, Sishu, Garran, Mahua, Kendu, Dhab and many more mangrove trees are creating natural shades on the banks of Salandi. Tigers, elephants, leopards, boars, deer, bison and deer are the common denizens of Salandi. You can hire a boat on the salandi River to watch the natural vista of the place closely.
Tourists can stay at Salandi Niloy, located on the banks of Salandi River. Bungalow of forest authority can be another nice place where tourists can stay overnight.
Enthusiastic temple lovers can watch the Garhchandi temple, about 10 km from the Salandi bungalow. Picnic lovers can enjoy the spree watching the wonderful natural locale sitting on the banks of the contiguous Kapali River.

Avail a train from Howrah or Sealdah railway
station, Kolkata and get down at Bhadrak. Take an auto to NH-5, about 6
km from Bhadrak railway station, before availing a bus to Chenapati
which is located at a distance of 24 km from NH-5 auto stand. Again hire
a jeep spending 200/300 rupees to reach Hadgarh where the dam is
situated.
