The gateway to Himachal, Pathankot is popularly known as the Military city of India. Upper Bary Daab Canal Malikpur, about 5 km away from Pathankot, houses a famous water power plant of India.

Picnic and outing lovers love this place for its excellent natural locale. The holy Damtal temple, about 5 km away from Pathankot, on the Pathankot- Jalandhar road, remains full of spiritual crowds during most of the times of the year. The walls of this divine temple are decorated with the mythological stories of Hindu epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Shahpur- Kandi, the appealing fort city of 16th century, is located amidst pretty natural surrounds and is only 13 km away towards the northern side of Pathankot. Tourists who congregate at Pathankot generally hire a car or avail a bus from pathankot to Shahpur- Kandi.

How to reach: Pathankot is accessed by bus easily from different places of Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Buses ply to Pathankot from Dalhousie, Kangra, Amritsar, Delhi and Dharamsala. Trains are also traveling to Pathankot from Delhi, Amritsar, Jammu, Kanyakumari, Ahmadabad, Jalandhar, Baijnath and many more Indian destinations.
